The tasks were the installing of faggets into the river bank in order to allow the river to run into the centre of the arch of the brick bridge. This is to stop the roll back when the river hits the buttress of the bridge and prevent the build up of silt on the river bed.
In addition there was planting of new wildflowers and repositioning some existing plants along the riverbank.
