Seven volunteers undertook the task of clearing weeds from the Cheriton Stream. The location was the confluence of the two feeder streams from Bramdean and Kilmeston. The weed was encroaching into the stream hindering its flow.
It is a case of getting the follow through right! The displaced silt can be seen travelling downstream.
There was a short period where work stopped to allow a couple of swans to pass along towards the village.
With the occasional eye contact!
The final image shows the Bramdean Stream has cleared the silt downstream whilst the Kilmeston Stream has the silt to clear with the weed clearance still going at this moment.
The purpose of the morning’s work was to release the stream flow and allow the chalk bed to restore itself.
